8" when closed, which is a large size. I can remove a link to make it a more standard 7" if you like. I think the tongue for the clasp was replaced (historic repair, in the 19th c.) The metal is a different color, and the links are kind of homemade, like the heads of pins. The 7 bloodstone/agate panels are all cut and faceted a little differently, so what's the story here? the settings are all gilded metal, with corrosion showing through in one spot. Totally handmade clasp, and the gilding is still very thick everywhere else. We buy this kind of bracelet in gold when we can - it's cool to see a non-precious metal version. c. 1810-40. RAD.
