"BE(E) TRUE IN HART". OMG. This tiny silver alloy ring was dug up by a metal detectorist in England and then sold once it was cleared through the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS). It's small to wear even as a pinky ring - it would be best on a chain. The interior is gilt, with lots of wear. And most likely, like so many other buried treasure, it was plowed over at least once since it was lost. It's bent and twisted and pitted but WHAT A TREASURE!!! c. 1600-1700.
